WAIKAWA are a style of woven basket traditionally made for the collection and storing of kai. In more recent years WAIKAWA can be seen filled with vegetables, tamariki toys or filled with your favourite things to be on shared as a gift. WAIKAWA are sturdy and versatile, making them the perfect addition to your WHARE and a sustainable storage solution. WAIKAWA are made from HARAKEKE, 100% naturally harvested and processed.

When freshly woven WAIKAWA are green, and as they dry naturally the colour fades to shades of tan and cream.
