Kōpaki - Envelopes

KŌPAKI means to wrap, to envelop and to fold which is why this is the word we have chosen for our envelopes as these envelopes will be used to gift or lay down a KOHATraditionally KOHA could be in the form of food which was delivered directly to the kāuta (cooking shed) or in valued natural resources such as pounamu.
In the modern-day context this tradition has evolved to a KOHA being laid down on the marae in the form of money collected into an envelope prior to going onto the marae to acknowledge the haukāika.
